Apple ups iPhone 7 production by 10%: Reports

Cupertino-based giant Apple seems confident that its next generation iPhone 7 -- which is just a day away from launch -- is going to be a huge success as the company has reportedly increased orders of the components needed to manufacture the handset by 10 per cent.

"It is also well known that non 's' year variants of iPhone create more excitement and have performed well than 's' variants, which the company also experiences year-on-year," The Next Web reported on Tuesday.

The timing of the move is interesting as Samsung had announced the global recall of its flagship premium device Galaxy Note 7 over battery faults and Apple is hoping to steal a number of its loyal customers.

Although the exact reason for the increase in demand remains is still unclear.

"on the other hand, it is safe to say that it has something to do with the average sales of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus that Apple faced when it launched the devices this time last year," the report added.

Apple unveils App Accelerator for developers

Apple on Friday announced the opening of its App Accelerator in Bengaluru that will provide specialized support for developers to build tools for the iOS platform. Each week, Apple's team will guide developers to design best practices and refine their skills to create iOS apps. Apple to reportedly stop supporting 32-bit apps with iOS 11

In a bid to remove problem apps and to focus on quality, Apple will stop supporting 32-bit apps with the release of iOS 11 later this year, meaning that many legacy applications will no longer function at all. "Starting with iOS 10.3, Apple has started alerting users when they open a 32-bit app on iOS. The pop up notification reads that the app must be updated by the developer or else it may not work with future versions of iOS," tech website 9to5mac.com reported on Monday. The tech giant started supporting 64-bit applications with the launch of the iPhone 5s in September 2013. The company also asked developers to submit new apps with 64-bit support since February 2015 and app updates starting June 2015.
