Rejoice! Motorola has launched its Android full touch-screen phone called Motorola Defy+ for Indian users. The Indian price, at least ex-showroom, is Rs 19,000 for the grabs. The retail India price is Rs. 17,990. The new Motorola mobile phone is full touch-screen and it comes with oodles and oodles of features any Smartphone geek would love. My favorite feature? The G-talk and water-resistant touch-screen. Among the top features of the Motorola Defy+ is the water-resistant, scratch-resistant and dust proof design, the 1-GHz processor based on the Gingerbread version of Google's Android operating system (Android 2.3). Permanent TSB loan incentives I found this tiny piece of news during a search. It is about Permanent TSB preparing special perks, possibly bonus I think, to encourage borrowers to make lump sum payments. It is similar to the bonus for mortgage holders Permanent TSB offered on November 5.In my earlier post I had mentioned that Mortgage holders of Permanent TSB who have made lump-sum payments of over €5,000 were to receive bonus payments of 10 percent from the bank. The reasons were that Permanent TSB wanted its tracker mortgage holders to close their loans faster. Bright Grey has launched Bright Touch, a free iPhone app that allows advisers to access product information wherever they are. The application gives detailed cover information for the provider’s personal and business protection menus. Advisers can also access interactive objection handling tools, information and videos on Bright Grey’s Helping Hand service and a list of FAQs. Nationwide is making available 90% LTV mortgages to all borrowers through the intermediary channel. These products were only available to existing Nationwide customers or those who use the society’s FlexAccount as their main current account. Head of intermediary sales at Nationwide Ian Andrew says: “This news is further evidence of how we are actively supporting the housing and mortgage markets, particularly for those with smaller deposits." “We know brokers often speak to customers who are struggling to raise deposits of 15% or more so we’re pleased that they will now be able to offer them our competitive three and five-year fixed rate deals with just a 10% deposit.” Products on offer include a three-year fix at 5.39% available up to 90% LTV, with a £900 product fee and £99 booking fee for house purchase customers. A recent survey has found that mortgages worth at least £245 Billion are not protected by Life Insurance. I read the survey report by Sainsbury's Finance today and I thought this must cost more for mortgage holders who would potentially be in for more than what they paid for to secure the mortgage, especially over soft grants. Four in ten mortgage holders do not have life cover to protect their mortgage, the survey said. 4 mortgage-holders out of 10 in Britain are not protected by life insurance. This practically means there are nearly 7 Million holders with a collective outstanding mortgage balance of £245 billion with no Life Insurance protecting their mortgage or avail support for their dependents in event of death. "On average, those who pay towards a mortgage and aren't covered by life protection are currently personally responsible for an outstanding balance of over £36, 000,” the survey report said.
