Now you can easily disable or remove the Navibar (or navigation bar) from your blogger/blogspot blog without editing the template, HTML, code, CSS or anything! I can't believe this and I'm so happily shocked: Just a few minutes ago, I went to choose a navigation bar design for my blog and found that Google has a new feature: Disable or TURN OFF the Navibar! I found it just a few minutes ago now my blogger blog looks like a proper website.
This post is not about mobile phones or gadgets but I'm posting this information here just to announce my "discovery" and my mega-super happiness at not having to have that Navigation bar and that orange blogger icon on the top of my blog here now. Moreover I did a search and I didn't see any blog, news or info on the feature, so I thought to "announce" it YAY :) :)
Now disable/remove Blogger Navigation Bar for good
(See that image? That's the 'OFF' feature' to disable the Navibar)
I made the "discovery" just a few minute ago at around 9:37 PM Indian (Standard Time), Sunday, June 25. I wanted a lighter navigation bar for my blog. My blog header background is a bit dark in contrast with the overall color scheme (but I love the color so didn't want to change the header background). So I thought a lighter design would ease the dark contrast a bit.
So I went to the design/layout section and clicked on the 'Navibar' bar to configure a lighter Navibar design. What did I discover? Among the 7 Navibar options to configure, there was one small new feature there: It said OFF. Instantly, I knew what it meant - Google had finally created a new feature to disable the Navibar!
Totally surprise, trembling and shaking, I clicked the 'OFF' button and then went to my homepage and guess what? There was a small band of white line where the navigation bar should be - and that means, no more Blogger Navibar and orange blogspot icon on my blog yay!
I don't know how many times have I tried to hide that thing without having to struggle with all those codes, HTML, template, parsing, editing codes blah blah all these years!
Just a small catch here: A tiny one
But of course, there is one itsy bitsy issue to this: The Navibar shows the links to the search, sharing feature ("Share"), violation reporting ("Report Abuse"), browsing ("Next blog"), your email ID, shortcut to writing new post ('New Post"), Designing your blog template etc ("Design") and the 'sign out' link. It is convenient to have the lot at your whim and call in one page. The only thing is the Navibar, for all its good intention, still doesn't give you that this-is-my-own-website-look which I believe millions of bloggers around the world are still trying to have. Just go through the millions of "how to disable Navibar on blogger/blogspot" articles on the web and how many people continue to search for a solution.
But its merely a tiny hitch. All you have to do is type in 'blogger.com' and viola, your dashboard will open from where you can do your usual stuff. That aside, the little inconvenience is nothing compared to the joy of knowing that my blog now looks more like a real website of my own. Blogger rocks!
How to disable/remove Navbar on Blogger/blogspot blog

Click on the 'Edit' link on the 'Navibar' Tab
At the bottom of the 'Navibar Configuration' window that pops up, just click on the 'OFF' button and save it. After that action, save your changes in the 'Edit Layout' section again. There, your blogspot blog now looks like your very own professional website and not a piggy-back riding blogger!
