It's been about 4 years since the Samsung Wave 525 was launched. When it came out in 2010, it was one of the best mid-segment "smartphones" that hit the market. How many momentous, technologically-superior smartphones have come and gone since the Bada OS Wave?
The 525 must now feel like a dinosaur - and it is. In terms of its web browser, the most troublesome dinosaur ever. Prior to using the Samsung Wave, I'd used several other phones and none gave me any problem when using the internet as did the 525. Browsing experience had never been so much a problem unlike the one the 525 gave me since i bought it three years ago.
The various versions of UC Browser, a nifty little mobile browser that was touted to be the "fastest browser" for mobile phones that time, was the choice of wave 525 users. The only problem? In a world where every app and gadget was either android or windows, none worked for Bada OS (Samsung's own operating system).

The Samsung Wave 525 (3g) |
I don't remember how many versions of the UC Browser (generic, Windows, Android, Symbian and blackberry - none for Bada OS) I have used. Some worked for a week or so before crashing; many did not work at all. Some would crash while browsing, Many who disappear when the phone rebooted. In remember scouring the forums, websites and Q&A sites looking for answers, each day. I was not alone. There seem one too many people looking for a UC browser that actually worked for their 525s.
Then, out of sheer frustration I downloaded the UC Browser V9.4 for my aged, ancient Wave 525. It was before I decided to buy a new phone. Now I use windows and android devices, with the Sony Xperia being my main device. I have a Sony Xperia Z and a Nokia (now 'Microsoft Mobile') smartphone. My Samsung 525 is just a back up when I am charging my main phones. Which means I use my Samsung 525 almost every day for browsing the web.
It has been about two years now. From the day I installed the UC V9.4, I don't remember the browser giving me any problem at all. No re-installation, no crashing, no lagging, and no problem. I still use the browser - no problem. I downloaded the version about more than a year ago.
If you are still one of the few people still using the Samsung Wave 525, and are harried for a dependable mobile web browser, try the UC V.9.4. (don't forget the version!). It's the only UC browser that works on Bada OS.
