Xperia z: Sony Specs up the phone cam fight

(Also, see the Xperia Z's price and date for release here)

There is something cool about the imagining/video tech in Sony Mobile's latest smartphone device the Xperia Z. The thing is, I could be biased because I am still a huge Sony Ericsson fan and that inspiration has stayed with me even after SE went off the market.

Anyhow, fan or not, I feel the Xperia Z is probably one of the best of the Xperia stable. There are quite a number of features I believe you'll really think are awesome. What is so cool about the bit? Is it the super-sharp HD display or the indisputably cool image-sensing technology called the 'Exmor RS' - claimed to be the "world's first image sensor for smartphones" - which the phone maker has incorporated as its flagship imaging functionality. Or is it the 'highest' water-resistant build of the Xperia Z that is the selling point?  For all I know, it is not one feature but a combination of all of them that makes Xperia Z such an amazing smartphone.

Let's check out the image/video features of this recently-released android smartphone.

A new imaging technology

My, my what do we have here. Exmor RS for Smartphones. What in the world of phone cam is Exmor RS?  Well, according to Sony Mobile, the Exmor RS™ HDR for photos and videos captures natural colours in "any light." With it, you can capture incredible clear photos even against strong back light. The camera captures the same image at different exposure levels and layers them to create a single optimized photo. Likewise, the same technology is applied to the video. With it you can film even in high contrast situations like in standing in front/against light. In other words, you can capture highly detailed shots even in bad light situations. You’re now also able to reproduce objects in more vivid colours and capture night images and faces in high clarity

Complementing features of the camera in the Xperia Z are the "high intensity action" burst-mode which gets you 10PPS. With the burst mode, you can shoot an "unlimited number" of images at 10 frames per second at a 9 Megapixel resolution.

Water and dust-resistant for all-weather photo adventure

Sony Mobile says the Xperia Z is a highly water-and dust-resistant smartphone - you can capture sharp photos and videos even in wet or dusty conditions, that is. AFter you have taken your photos or captured your favorite scene in HD video, you can browse in super-fast pinch-zoom, one of the fastest among the Xperia models.

What's the US, UK and India price of the Sony Xperia Z?

US price: $844.22 approximately
UK price: GBP 555 approximately
India Price Rs. 37, 990 approximately

The only UC Browser version that works on Samsung Wave 525 (Bada OS)

It's been about 4 years since the Samsung Wave 525 was launched. When it came out in 2010, it was one of the best mid-segment "smartphones" that hit the market. How many momentous, technologically-superior smartphones have come and gone since the Bada OS Wave?  The 525 must now feel like a dinosaur - and it is. In terms of its web browser, the most troublesome dinosaur ever. Prior to using the Samsung Wave, I'd used several other phones and none gave me any problem when using the internet as did the 525.  Browsing experience had never been so much a problem unlike the one the 525 gave me since i bought it three years ago. The various versions of UC Browser , a nifty little mobile browser that was touted to be the "fastest browser" for mobile phones that time, was the choice of wave 525 users. The only problem? In a world where every app and gadget was either android or windows, none worked for Bada OS (Samsung's own operating system). The Sams...

Overview of Sony Ericsson W995: The Little Walkman

The Sony Ericsson w995 Walkman is a relic from the glorious collaboration of Sony Corp and Ericsson. Yet, the  'Walkman' slider phone, released in 2009, remains one of the most popular mobile phones in the market today. An overview of the phone will give us amble reasons why even mobile phone reviewers still cannot beat the little device down, even in this age of the Xperias and the iPhones. Here is an overview of the  main features and specifications of this hardy little Sony Ericsson flagship phone. Overview: The Sony Ericsson w995 is a "Walkman" Slider phone. When it was released in 2009, the device offered probably three of then-biggest features to mobile phone users - a then-unheard of 8.1 Megapixel camera, 8GB Memory Card and 3G - one of the first pre-3G era phones that came with a 3G network band. My guess on the reasons for the phone's popularity is users' relentless hunger for big MP cameras. Only high-ends such as the Xperias, the Nokia Lumias and...
